Today we are going to discuss how to clean cold air intake filter. Cold air intakes are made to bump up the horsepower of the vehicle. Further, they are made to deal with the atmospheric cold air. Hot air intakes are present near the engine, whereas cold air intakes are placed outside. Hence, more contact with the air means better oxygen intake inside the engine. Therefore, resulting in better combustion.
Further, we all know cold air is denser than hot air. The dense cold air contains a high level of oxygen compared to the hot air which has a low. The combustion chamber gets more oxygen resulting in better combustion and power.
However, there is a downside. As the cold air intake filter is placed outside, the risk of dust getting in increases. Therefore, the filter gets soaked up with Grimes and clouds of dust. Thus, you need to clean it at every oil-changing time. Further, the cleaning process of cold air intake is very easy and takes less time.
Let us dive into the details about how to clean the cold air intake filter below.
How To Clean Cold Air Intake Filter:- The Steps
Below we have listed some steps for the cleaning process of cold air intake.
Take the help of a screwdriver to remove the screws and remove the mounting band of the air filter. Now, take the air filter is free to be removed. Take off the air filter from the intake.

Now take the air filter out and dispense the solution of soaked water that is present in the bowl. Mix the solution of detergent and water again.
Further, soak the air filter again. What you have done is dispensed the dirty water with a clean solution. Now keep the air filter soaked for 15 minutes again.
Now, you will take the filter out of the solution and shake it vigorously to remove excess water from the filter. Further, spray the whole filter with oil slightly. Oil will prevent corrosion of the filter and permanent dirt from getting stuck inside the filter.
Now, place the filter under the fan to let it dry completely.
Your cleaning process is complete and now you can replace the filter and remount it on the intake. Further, take the help of the screwdriver to tighten the screws and secure the filter in place.
